Abstract

Plato's work Apologia de Sócrates is taken here as the basis for the development of this article, which aims to present the context in which the Socratic-Sophist debate took place. This is developed by demonstrating the Socratic arguments against Relativism that the Sophists adopted in their speeches and thoughts, going completely against Socrates' philosophy. In other words, it exposes the contradiction between both: on one hand, the truth has been fiercely defended through the teachings of Socrates and, on the other, the relativization of it by the masters of rhetoric.
