The Secret of Secrets (Secretum Secretorum) is one of the most readen books of the Occident, since the beginning of its circulation, around 1150, till the XVIIth century. The most important parts are the famous De Regimine Sanitatis (Rules for Health), the letter of Alexander to Aristotle and the answer of the Stagirita. They represent a rule of behavior for the kings. In this paper are focused the virtues and passions which ought to animate the true governors, and the vices to be avoid, in order to save his realm of disasters which could castigate the king and his people.
