Abstract

The talk of “Word of God” isn’t self-evident in the sense of understanding it by oneself. There is no greater objection against speaking of “Word of God” than the meaning of the word “God”. But the Christian message makes itself understood by its content. The content of the Christian message explains its pretension to be “Word of God”. The term “Word of God” means God’s turning himself to the world which is only explicable in Trinitarian way. The world is assumed in the love of the Father for the Son which is the Holy Spirit. Because this love of God doesn’t find its measure in the world, it can’t be read from the world. We know of it only because of the incarnation of the Son. The Son of God assumed human type in order to tell God’s love in human words. So Word of God is real human word whose truth however is divine. There exists a precise structural parallel between “theology-of-Word-of-God” and Christology (as well as ecclesiology).
