Israel, eco de eternidade
Keywords:
Israel. Eternity. Earth. Jerusalem.Abstract
The Heschel ́s book, “Israel: an Echo of Eternity” (1967), is a faithful echo of a pathetic expression from Talmud: “Jerusalem means Eternity”. Jerusalem is a charismatic town: God choosed it and enriched it with His misterious presence; the prophets, the kings, the wises, the priests made it the town where we listen and shelter God ́s voice. From every place, from each angle of the Earth, we were as if pushed to the Wailing Wall. Heschel regards Jerusalem that knew how to preserve its ears diligent for listening its prophets. In Jerusalem past is present. Jerusalem is the forechamber of Paradise. It is the Israel ́s Mother, the high hope lits hope.
