Abstract

This article develops the cause of human violence which, for Emmanuel Levinas, is in subjectivity itself. It consists of three degrees of construction: fruition, economy and the thinking being. The first one turns the alimentation as a moment of pleasure and human satisfaction. The economy is the search for this nourishment and presupposes a home to store it. And the thinking being is the man himself who can turn to the search for self-satisfaction and there may be violence, or the individual can, through his thinking being, seek ethics.
