This article aims to discuss the thesis of Protagoras of Abdera, eminent sophist of the fifth century, the problem of unknowability of the deities and the actions of these. For this part is an introductory reflection on the role of religion in the ancient Greek world, in order to demonstrate the indispensability of this aspect for understanding the Greek sociability as a whole. Then presents general information about the author in question, as well as its main theses, with the intention to find and justify their agnostic option within your own thought. The Protagorean fragment based their attitude towards the indiscernible of the deities will be stated and analyzed with two main purposes: first differentiate the complex agnostic stance Protagoras a naive atheism and secondly reflect on detail about the arguments that support this thesis. So you want to be concluded pointing to the relevance of protagóricas theses to the philosophy of religion.
