Decree Presbyterorum Ordinis: the permanent care and formation of the clergy

Abstract

The article aims to revisit the conciliar Decree Presbyterorum Ordinis, in view of the great challengs inherent in the personal and missionary life of the clergy in the contemporary world. It is divided into three fundamental parts, namely: The appreciations of Decree, Pastoral Care and Training intertwined with care. The research gives rise to a conciliar readin, in order to help in thinking about the real need to care for the priests, from the Seminary, the diocese, the parish community and, above all, from the priest himself, so that this care is a everyone’s business. It is urgente to remember that the priest, before being ordained, is a Christian and, before that, he is a human person surrounded by vulneralilities.
