A possible theoretical approach between Hannah Arendt and Niccolò Machiavelli

Abstract

This scientific article addresses, as its central issue, a possible approximation—within temporal and conceptual limits—between the political philosophers Hannah Arendt and Niccolò Machiavelli, particularly in their critique of the tradition of political thought and their respective approaches to the concept of appearance. The general objective of the research is to demonstrate the extent to which such an approximation between the authors can be established by identifying points of convergence and divergence in their philosophical ideas. The study focuses specifically on the tradition of political thought and the concept of appearance. The proposed hypothesis is that both Arendt and Machiavelli share points of convergence in their positions regarding the tradition of political thought, as well as in their understandings of the concept of appearance. This is a theoretical and bibliographical study, grounded in books, articles, and academic works published in journals and periodicals relevant to the topic under investigation.

Ricardo George de Araújo Silva, Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú (UVA)

Doutor em Filosofia - UFC (2018), Mestre em Filosofia - UFC (2006), Graduado em Filosofia - Licenciatura com habilitação em história - UECE (2002). Atualmente é professor da Graduação e do Mestrado Acadêmico em filosofia da Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú - UVA - Sobral - CE. É professor do quadro permanente do mestrado profissional em filosofia da Universidade Federal do Ceará [PROF-FILO-UFC]. Foi professor efetivo da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco UFRPE (2009 - 2011). Foi Professor efetivo da Universidade Federal Rural do Semiárido - UFERSA (2011-2012). É líder do Grupo de Pesquisa em Política, Educação e Ética - GEPEDE/UVA/CNPQ. Coordena o Laboratório de Estudos da Política - LEPOL/UVA, que desenvolve pesquisas e observações em torno do fenômeno político. É editor da Revista Reflexões de Filosofia.

Mestre em Filosofia pela Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú (UVA). Bacharel em Direito pela Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú (UVA). Foi estagiário da Promotoria de Justiça da Comarca de Santana do Acaraú/CE. Possui pós-graduação em Direito Constitucional pela instituição Damásio Educacional S/A. Integra o Grupo de Estudos em Política, Educação e Ética (GEPEDE/UVA/CNPQ) vinculado ao Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPQ) e é professor orientador da Liga de Direito Constitucional e Política do Curso de Direito da Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú. Por fim, é professor do Curso de Direito da Uninassau Sobral.
