The current modelo of concelebration is rooted in the understanding of the Eucharist in the first centuries as a celebration, an action, of the ecclesial community. Extending the occasions in which Eucharist might be concelebrated, it corresponds to the current reality of a multiplicity of celebrations. The “one Eucharist” of Saint Ignatius of Antioch applies to every community, large or small that celebrates it.
