The article discusses the hypothesis that the metaphysical nature of Schopenhauer may be better understood in the light of development which are their concepts of matter and representation throughout the preparation of his work. Argues that such concepts are modified from the dialogue that the author hangs with certain philosophers, including highlight would Spinoza. Want to show that the thought of the latter serves target critical German the concept of absolute and can clarify the scope and to position Schopenhauer against German Idealism. Argues that philosophy Spinoza would have particular relevance to the understanding of complex relationship between the concepts of absolute and substance, with whom Schopenhauer opposed both thought Schelling lost as of Hegel.
