Religions and the question of truth: between contradictions and the criteria of human dignity

The problem of truth is far from closed. Many were and are the theories and justifications to try to find or solve the question about the truth of things, of people, and even of God. Religions, as cultural forms of the expression of divine salvation, have always presented their reasons for truth. But the handling of such truths is located in a mix of contradiction and rightness. If the defense of life and the effort to make it more worthy, as God's wish for humanity, can be considered one of the most assertive forms of the defense of truth, on the other hand, the pretension of superiority in the name of such truths has caused atrocious inhumanities throughout history, many times justified in the name of God and under the criterion of separation between the saved and the unsaved. Considering these perspectives, the purpose of this article is to put these two positions in question, aiming more at problematizing the theme than at solving the problem.
