Abstract

The purpose of this article is to describe how Heidegger unblocks the question of the meaning of being in general by taking it up again, in Being and Time. In this sense, there are two moments: 1) to demonstrate how the question of being fell into oblivion in ancient ontology, since the metaphysical tradition attributed to the question the concepts of universality, indefinability and self-evidence, while muting the question problem. And 2) describe the Heideggerian process of formalizing the question, that is: it will be shown how Heidegger puts the question back by directing it to Dasein. Since, for Heidegger, the existential way of being this entity is to undertake originally the question of the meaning of being in general.
